Bio

Mariela Caparrós has over 25 years of experience advising international companies on M&A transactions as well as corporate and antitrust matters involving a wide range of industries, including digital cable television, alcoholic beverages, cement, supermarket, dairy, mining, fishing, consumer food products and banking.

Her practice also extends to banking and finance matters. She has advised both issuers and underwriters on public and private corporate bond issues, including on notes qualified as “negotiable obligations” under Argentine law. Mariela also routinely advises clients on their interaction with financial regulatory and self-regulating bodies, including the Central Bank, the National Securities and Exchange Commission and the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange. Her experience also includes representing both creditors and debtors in structured workouts, restructurings and insolvency proceedings.

Mariela Caparrós has also worked extensively in compliance matters, having created and implemented in-house programs to train management on various substantive matters, and having drafted policy manuals geared at fostering client compliance.

For each of the last several years, she has been recognized as a leading practitioner in Argentina by Chambers & Partners publications.
